Throughout the history of mankind, a big evolution happens each couple of hundred years and affects the way everybody lives.
In most cases, this evolution had been due to the impact of a new dominant technology that affects the social and
economical traditional conduct styles and rules.
Information and Communication Technologies [ICT] have truly changed the world around us.
Fifty years ago, nobody would have imagined a company, a doctor, an engineer or a teacher working without a pen and a paper.
It is the same nowadays, but instead of the pen and the paper, it is the computer
(whether a main-frame, a desk-top, a lap-top or even a tablet PC), the software and the connectivity.
In such moments of evolution, the impact causes some turbulence.
And the deeper the impact is, the stronger the turbulence will be.
During such turbulent times, entities (that could be people, companies or even nations) are divided into two categories.
The first… are those who can absorb, understand and utilize this new technology to their best.
While the second, are those who stay behind.
Needless to say, when the turbulence ends; the first category will be far ahead of the second.
And the second category starts to face a real chasm that threatens their lives as it used to be.
Here comes the real need for experts who understands such new technologies.
Being able to use the technology is the least important when comparing to the true understanding that enables
such calibers to domesticate this new technology for the benefit of their societies, companies and nations.
As ICT penetrates everything in our lives, it is required to deal more and more with various cultures from each corner of the globe.
Talking about cultures, is very much dependant on human languages. And talking about our area of the world, then let us talk about Arabic language.
